Biogas Pioneer Josef Haller – First Reverion Power Plant in Operation
Josef Haller, a farmer from Waldmünchen and Managing Director of BioEnergie GmbH & Co. KG, was the first to opt for a Reverion pilot plant. In 2023, he and his fellow operators had a 100 kW power plant installed on his farm – a bold step towards climate-positive energy.
The 520 kW biogas plant was already made more flexible in 2016 and supplies two districts with renewable heat via a local heating network. It is fed primarily with manure and grass – without the predominance of maize, typical of the dairy region in the Cham district.
After successful tests in Garching and intensive discussions with the startup Reverion, Haller decided on the new technology. The pilot plant has since been replaced by a further developed power plant from the pre-production series – and is running efficiently and reliably.
Many colleagues had reservations, but I was determined to support the project," says Haller. Today, the facility is operating successfully – and is considered a pioneer for other locations.
