In recent weeks, we had the opportunity to welcome various political representatives to our company to discuss the future of energy supply and the role of flexibly operated biogas plants in the energy transition.

Among our guests were Members of the German Bundestag Katrin Staffler (CSU), Michael Kießling (CSU), and Toni Hofreiter (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), as well as Bavarian State Secretary Tobias Gotthardt (Freie Wähler). We also hosted several delegations from Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, who visited us to gain first-hand insight into our company.

Showcasing Innovative Technology

During their visits, we provided in-depth insights into our technology and the promising potential of biogas as a sustainable energy source.

Our mission to create a climate-neutral energy future was met with strong support from our guests. They especially emphasized the flexibility of biogas, which can be used not only for electricity and heat generation but also for long-term energy storage.

Presentation at the CDU/CSU Congressional Summit

Another highlight was the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group’s energy summit, where our Chief Operating Officer Felix Fischer addressed an audience of over 600 participants. In his presentation, he outlined the key pillars of an efficient, flexible, and future-proof energy policy—with a special focus on long-term energy storage and the increased, demand-driven use of biogas.

Meeting with Finance Minister Jörg Kukies and Leading ClimateTech Startups

Our CEO, Stephan Herrmann, also participated in an engaging roundtable with Finance Minister Jörg Kukies and fellow founders of innovative German startups at the Federal Ministry of Finance. The discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities related to growth financing for startups.

Taking Collective Steps Toward a Sustainable Future

These meetings and the open dialogue with political decision-makers represent an important step forward in advancing our vision of a climate-friendly and efficient energy future—at the regional, national, and international levels. One thing became clear: accelerating the transition to a sustainable future requires the right political framework and continued support. This includes:

  • Simplifying Permitting Procedures
To accelerate the expansion of renewable energy, bureaucratic barriers must be reduced and approval processes streamlined—especially for biogas and other sustainable energy projects.

  • Stronger Integration of Biogas into Regional Energy Strategies
Biogas should play a larger role in regional energy supply concepts. This includes improved incentives for grid feed-in and targeted support for local usage.

  • Revising Grid Fees and Eliminating Grid Connection Costs for Storage Technologies
Grid fees need to be adjusted to ensure fair cost distribution. In addition, the grid connection fee should be eliminated for storage technologies that contribute positively to grid stability.

  • Revising the Gas Network Access Regulation
The regulation governing access to the gas grid should be updated to create fair and transparent conditions, facilitating the feed-in of renewable gases.

  • Timely Implementation of a Registry for RFNBO Production
A dedicated registry should be introduced promptly to track the production and use of renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBOs), ensuring transparency and traceability.

  • Loan Guarantees for Early-Stage Companies to Finance Production Facilities
Early-stage startups should receive government-backed loan guarantees to help them secure external financing for building production facilities and scaling their products to market.

We firmly believe that, together with committed partners and political stakeholders, we can successfully drive the energy transition. It was a pleasure to showcase our technology and contribute valuable input for a sustainable future.
